About SKB Group, Inc.
With over 30 years of experience, Gene Duignan is the President of SKB Group, Inc. In the early 1970’s he was interested in the construction field and went to work for an Orange County builder. After working with the builder for a year and a half, he took a job as a welder at a shipyard in Newburgh, working on the caissons for the new span of the Newburgh/Beacon Bridge.
Once that job was completed, he took an opportunity to work for a local residential framer. In 1983, after five years of framing, he went out on his own. In just two years he built his business to employ five framing crews.
In 1987, while growing his residential construction business, he expanded into the commercial side of construction as well. His work included nursing homes, schools, assisted living, store build outs, new construction and existing building refits. In 1997, he took on a partner and went on to build town houses, stores, commercial rentals, and single family homes.
As a result of his past experiences, Gene formed SKB Group Inc. in 2002 as a sole proprietor. He has built additions, single family homes, ADA compliant refit homes, restaurant build-outs, repairs, and school renovations. Gene enjoys being the sole proprietor of his business and being able to supply excellent customer service to his clients. Additionally, he enjoys sharing in the excitement of turning a client’s dreams into reality.
Gene is a devoted husband and father of two children. On his free time he enjoys going to the gym, mountain biking and skiing and hopes to get back into NASTAR racing soon.
